Coronation Street’s Ruxandra Porojnicu says she has café job after it’s revealed EastEnders’ Katie Jarvis works in B&M
CORRIE'S Ruxandra Porojnicu has revealed she works in a café after it emerged ex EastEnders star Katie Jarvis is working as a security guard at B&M.
The actress, who plays modern day slave Alina Pop, is the latest soap star to talk about their own experiences of real-life side jobs.
She wrote on Twitter: "I worked all summer in a cafe and I will keep this job for as long as I can while also going up to Manchester and film.
"And yes, it wasn't easy after 6 months of living any actor's dream to work on set full time.
"I wanted to quit and I cried a lot because it's so stressful working in customer service!
"Also, I couldn't believe I have to do it again. Imagine having a family to take care of!
"Is not easy being constantly with or without job. Is true it affects your mental health as an actor!!
"But hey! there was no other alternative right away, didn't know what the future will bring and I couldn't just wait without doing anything.
"There's no shame in working. I would rather feel ashamed being lazy and complain I don't have money or ask my family to provide for me."
It was revealed earlier this week that Katie, who joined the BBC One soap last year for a short-lived stint as Kat Slater's cousin, had bagged a new job as a security guard.

Katie confirmed to the that her acting career has now taken a back seat as she focuses on her two children.
She said: "I’ve taken a step back from acting. I’ve got a job and I’m looking after my kids."
Hayley's disappearance from Albert Square left fans scratching their heads earlier this year, with her explosive storyline with Kat and Alfie reaching an abrupt end.
A source explained: "A lot of people have been wondering where Hayley is after she left so suddenly but the mystery has been solved, she’s in Romford working at B&M.
"There was so much speculation about her departure, but there was no reason to keep the character in Albert Square once the storyline ended and Alfie had gone."
