LAUREN Alaina brought viewers to tears as she broke down crying on Monday's Dancing With The Stars.
The 24-year-old country music star paid tribute to her step-father, Sam Ranker, who passed away a year ago to the day, from cancer.
Lauren, who looked stunning in a beige gown, was comforted by her professional partner Gleb Savchenko after she burst into tears at the end of their performance.
She danced a contemporary number to her deeply personal self-penned song The Other Side, which was written about Ramker, to pay tribute to her "number one fan."
Prior to the dance, Alaina had teared up while discussing just how difficult this night was going to be for her and her family.
"He made my mom so happy, changed my mom's life," she said. "I wrote this song in his memory. I wanted to write a song that did him justice."
At the end of the song, she ran to her mum in the audience and was eventually brought to the judging panel by Savchenko.
"You're a brave woman," Carrie Ann Inaba told her.
Bruno complimented her "Love, truth and honesty," while Len raised more tears when he told the singer that her impressive performance was "worthy of your step-father."
Viewers were equally moved as they watched, with one commenting on Twitter: "he is definitely looking down on you and super proud of you."

There were further tears when Sailor Brinkley Cook was eliminated from the show.
"Man, @Lauren_Alaina & @SBrinkleyCook had me in tears tonight and I'm still going at 1.30am!" wrote another fan.
"So moving sand so not ready for her journey to be over," they continued.
