Cheeky Peter Andre teases Kate Garraway about I’m A Celeb stint as flustered GMB star refuses to admit she’ll star
I’M A Celebrity star Peter Andre cheekily offered to give Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway the “inside track” on jungle life – as he teased her on her upcoming role.
The Sun was first to confirm Kate, a mum of two, would be heading Down Under for the winter reality series, and on yesterday’s GMB she admitted she was “sweating” at the thought.
Tuesday’s episode saw former jungle star and musician Peter Andre stir up her worries while presenting the showbiz segment.
Peter famously struck up a relationship with model Katie Price on the 2004 series, and the pair enjoyed a five year relationship during which they married.
The Mysterious Girl singer sat to her side and offered to give her some tips, and said: “Listen, let me really talk you through if you decide to do it, or if you are already doing this.”
Kate, 52, giggled and said: “What, you are offering me the inside track?” to which he wittily snapped back: “Why are you asking so many questions?”
He then bluntly asked: “Are you starring?”
Kate, increasingly starting to get uncomfortable, replied: “I’m a journalist, I am paid to ask questions.”
Showing he understood the strict silence potential contestants need to maintain, Peter admitted he knew she couldn’t tell him if she was competing in the series, yet added: “That’s something she can tell me in the commercial break.”
Kate, clearly hamstrung on how to reply, simply said: “Look at me, I am getting flustered again.”
Yesterday, she admitted her real fears of heights, the dark and camping as she attempted to skirt around chat about the series, presented by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
The Sun this weekend reported how the breakfast TV favourite will join hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly this year.
It confirmed she had already booked time off work to clear her schedule.
She had been in talks to enter last year but turned down a big-money offer because of her hectic schedule.
But the telly anchor has now agreed to enter the show and will fly out to Australia in the coming weeks.
