Coronation Street spoilers: Emma Brooker’s life hangs in the balance after misdiagnosis from Dr Ali
EMMA Brooker collapses in Coronation Street next week after Dr Ali Neeson mistakenly sends her home with food poisoning.
Maria Connor asks her ex, Ali, to take a look at Emma who arrives at work with a pain in her side.
But drug-addict Ali – who’s played by James Burrows in the ITV soap – is jealous when he discovers that Maria has arranged a date with evil builder Gary Windass.
Irritated, he tells Emma’s she’s probably just got a case of food poisoning. Emma heads home to bed while Toyah urges Ali to tell Maria how he feels about her.
But later Maria and Gary find Emma unconscious on the floor of the flat and call an ambulance.
At the hospital Emma’s biological dad, Steve McDonald, is told that she’s got a ruptured appendix and needs an emergency op to fix it.
When Steve learns that Ali told her she just had food poisoning, he’s furious and accuses him of medical negligence. Will Emma’s surgery be successful?
The Sun Online revealed last month that Emma would collapse, sparking fears she suffers from the same genetic condition as granddad, Jim.
The hairdresser - who is played by actress Alexandra Mardell - recently discovered she is Steve McDonald's biological child after his relationship with her mum Fiona Middleton.
And while Coronation Street fans have watched her be welcomed happily into the family she didn't know she had, things are about to take a dark turn.

Emma will soon complain of feeling unwell and being in pain at work with Maria and decided to go to the medical centre to get it checked out.
But when she leaves the pain becomes too much and she collapses in agony. Gary Windass finds her unconscious in the street and rushes to get her help.
A source exclusively told The Sun Online: "Emma's not going to understand what's wrong with her but her dad Steve knows only too well what it could be.
"Jim's illness skipped a generation with Steve but the possibility of it affecting Emma is almost too much to contemplate. It's going to be a really harrowing time for the McDonalds if it's what caused Emma's collapse."
