STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have been left in awe of Johannes Radebe after he opened tonight's results episode by dancing in heels.

The 32-year-old dancer stole the show when all of the professionals hit the ballroom for this evening's opening number.

The entire gang, who were joined on stage by the judges, performed a sassy routine that saw them brandishing fans with words like "pose", "extra" and "slay" written on them, but all eyes were on Johannes.

Unlike the other male pros, the South African dancer slipped on a pair of heeled black boots for his segment, which became the focus of the entire dance.

Dressed in a sparkly black vest, open shirt, and black trousers with a red stripe down the sides, Johannes  - who is partnered with Corrie's Catherine Tyldesley - made dancing in the uncomfortable footwear look effortless as he busted out some moves alongside two male backing dancers.

Flocking to social media, fans gushed about the performance - praising Johannes for going against convention.

One wrote: "Johannes was just fab-u-lous on #strictly! An amazing dancer!"

Another added: ";Can we talk about Johannes slaying on the dance floor tonight in high heels?

"Very camp and extremely fun. Every week I love him more and more."

A third shared: "Johannes just absolutely killed it."

The show-stopping routine comes just one day after The Sun Online revealed that Strictly will be copying Dancing On Ice as the pros perform the first one-on-one same sex dance in the show's history next month.

Johannes and Graziano Di Prima will perform a romantic number together on the results show on Sunday, November 3.

They will perform to Emeli Sande track Shine in what will be a landmark moment for the BBC show.

A backstage Strictly source said: "It’s a brave move for the Beeb and will break boundaries but bosses are under a lot of pressure.

"There have been calls for same-sex pro and celebrity pairings. This is an ideal way to integrate that.

"It will hopefully pave the way for a same-sex couple next year. It’s a step in the right direction for making the show even more diverse.

"Graziano and Johannes are ideal for the dance as they’re the same height and good mates, having joined the show at the same time."

The Sun revealed last week that ITV rival Dancing On Ice will be making TV history after pairing Steps star Ian H Watkins with pro skater Matt Evers for the next series of the show.

Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood applauded the decision and revealed that he has been pleading with BBC producers to do that for the last five years.

Former pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev accused Strictly of "losing an incredible opportunity" by refusing to feature a same-sex couple as he admitted that it was a "shame" the show didn't make the landmark decision first.

He added that he "doesn't see a reason why not" when it comes to having a same-sex celebrity partner - although confessed that he couldn't imagine Anton Du Beke being on board.
