Gordon Ramsay gets permission to build £30k igloo-style wood cabin at £4million seaside home
TV chef Gordon Ramsay has got the go-ahead to build a £30,000 igloo-style wood cabin at his £4million seaside home.
The Hell’s Kitchen star wants it as a guest house for family and friends at his home near the trendy village of Rock.
Ramsay, 52, was granted permission to build it in his back garden at Trebetherick, Cornwall, after telling the council it will be accommodation for visiting pals and family.
Gordon and wife Tana plan to have the igloo-shaped cabin built in their back garden overlooking Daymer Bay beach.
Estonian company Iglucraft are understood to be the makers of the modern igloos which vary in price from £10,000 to £32,000.
The firm's largest cabin in its range is the 'family hut', priced at just under £31,000, which is of a similar size to Ramsay's concept design.
Gordon and wife Tana’s single-storey igloo cabin will have a kitchen, double bed and electric heating, according to planning permission submitted by the couple.
The planning was granted by Cornwall Council, with conditions, paving the way for work to begin on the build.
He has spent more than £10million on Cornwall properties in recent years.
He is currently building a multi-million pound home at Rock and finished renovating an old Lloyds Bank building.
The potty-mouthed dad of five has also reportedly sought permission to install two igloos at his £7million London mansion after David Beckham and Guy Ritchie bought similar lodges.
