Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt’s rape storyline is revisited as Josh returns in disturbing scenes

DAVID Platt will get a very unpleasant blast from the past in Coronation Street tomorrow night.

The hairdresser, who’s currently in prison for his part in stealing £80k from his gran Audrey Roberts, will come face to face with his rapist Josh Tucker on the ITV soap.

Josh – who’s played by returning star Ryan Clayton – drugged and raped David last year following a lads’ night out.

A shaken David – Jack P Shepherd – will be seen heading back to his cell where he discovers from his new friend, Abe, that Josh is inside for rape.

David then confesses that he is also one of Josh’s victims.

Josh was seen slipping date rape drug GHB into David’s beer in a bar when he went to the toilet.

As the drug kicked in, David became more and more out of it and Josh took him back to his flat.

Once there, he dragged a semi-conscious David into the bedroom where he was seen throwing him face down on the bed. Josh then began to unbuckle his belt, before shutting the bedroom door.

The incident was the start of a harrowing period for David as viewers watched him keep the rape to himself for months. 

The hairdresser went into self-destruct mode, ending his relationship with Shona Ramsay and brutally attacking Gary Windass and almost killing him.

It was only after Aidan Connor tragically took his own life two months later that David finally opened up and confessed to Shona what Josh had done to him.

With the help of his friends and family, David has been able to move on from what happened to him. 

But could Josh’s reappearance in his life change everything?

David will be put in a difficult position next week when a riot kicks off in the prison.

Abe drags Josh into David’s cell and hands him a pair of scissors, telling him to do his worst.

And David will call Shona, telling her she needs to sort him out with a lawyer when Josh is stabbed. But did he do it?

The dad of two will swear it wasn’t him, but a video taken during the riot shows Josh collapse after being stabbed, with David just nearby.
