Coronation Street spoilers: Pregnant Gemma Winter is rushed to hospital after she suffers stomach pains
CORONATION Street's pregnant Gemma Winter will be rushed off to hospital on Friday as she starts to experience agonising stomach pains.
It comes after a humiliating experience sees the mum-to-be – who’s expecting quads with Chesney Brown – make the front page of the Gazette.
In tonight’s episodes – the first in a week thanks to England Euro 2020 qualifying matches – Gemma tells Chesney she’s managed to wangle free tickets to Weatherfield County’s match.
But the mum is soon left burning with embarrassment when she gets stuck in the turnstile because of her huge baby bump.
Fans of the ITV soap will later see a mortified Gemma being taken to hospital after two firemen are forced to dismantle the turnstile to rescue her.
After being given the all-clear, Gemma is infuriated on Friday when she sees a photo of herself stuck in the turnstile on the front page of the Gazette.
When journalists start hassling her, she meets with PR agent, Rosa, in the Rovers who insists she can help set up interviews and make Gemma a small fortune.
Gemma’s interest is piqued but, when she suddenly starts suffering from stomach pains, she’s rushed to hospital.
As she and the babies are checked over, Gemma’s told she needs to get as much rest as possible.
Meanwhile, Gemma’s mum, Bernie, insists they don’t need Rosa and she can look after her PR herself.
The mum-to-be is more than thrilled, but Ches is less keen. Will he be able to convince Gemma to take it easy for the sake of their unborn babies?
The Sun exclusively revealed back in January that Gemma – who’s played by Dolly-Rose Campbell would discover she’s pregnant with quads.
Since then the former kebab shop worker has had an eventful pregnancy which has brought Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) back into her life.
And Bernie’s been quick to use her daughter’s unusual pregnancy to make some money of her own, including a twisted scheme where she stole Gemma’s WEE to set up a scam pregnancy testing business online.
Gemma has also been dealing with her twin brother, Paul’s erratic behaviour since his childhood abuser, Kel, returned to their lives.
Unknown to Gemma and Bernie, twisted Kel groomed and abused Paul (Peter Ash) when he was just 14.
And after revealing to Billy Mayhew that he and Kel had a fling in the past, Paul was left stunned when the vicar pointed out to him that the relationship was actually abuse.
