Speaking to , Brian - who plays Logan - recalled a conversation with the show's executive producer Adam McKay and creator Jesse Armstrong.

He said: "I said, ‘So, I’m out at the end of the first season? From their phones in Italy and Los Angeles came this chorus of “Oh no, oh no.’”

Indeed, Logan is still alive and well by the end of the season two finale, which aired on Sunday night.

In it, Logan's son Kendall finally betrayed him in front of the TV cameras, while his father watched him on television, a hint of a smile acknowledging - ironically - that he had finally become "the killer" media man Logan never thought he could be.

Brian, 73, said of the scenes: "I thought it was excellent, I was completely engrossed by it.

"It was really very, very good and very gratifying. It was absolutely on the money.

";We should see it finally as Logan acknowledging that Kendall has finally come of age. He has stepped up to play.

"He has done what his father didn’t think he was capable of, even though his father is the victim. He is the father killer."

Fans are already eager to see how Kendall's words affect the family business, as well as his siblings, Shiv, Connor and Roman, who had just been made COO of the company before he dropped his bombshell.

Brian continued: "There are a lot of things to be explored in Season Three.

"The succession itself is still to be explored; how to keep Waystar together and stop it from going under; how to stop the proxy battle and company takeover.

"Roman has suddenly risen, and will emerge quite strongly I think."

As for Kendall, Brian said: "[Logan] knows his son has the killer capacity.

"Now the only problem is, as we will see in Season Three, is has Kendall got the ability to keep it up?"
