Coronation Street spoilers: Sinead dies with Daniel and Bertie by her side as she loses cancer battle
THERE are some emotional scenes in Coronation Street next week as Sinead Tinker loses her battle with cervical cancer.
Her death comes after she discovers husband Daniel has kissed Bethany Platt behind her back. The couple have a huge row and Daniel hits self-destruct, with Adam Barlow finding him drunk in the ginnel.
Sinead – who’s played by Katie McGlynn in the ITV soap - wakes up the next morning and remembers her row with Daniel and realises, with a heavy heart, that Daniel’s not there.
With Beth’s help, Sinead records some messages on Daniel’s laptop for their son Bertie, determined to know just how much she loved him.
Soon, Tracy Barlow calls at the flat and tells Sinead that Bertie is going to need his dad. She says that Daniel loves both of them with all his heart.
Her words resonate with Sinead and, when Daniel (Rob Mallard) returns to the flat an emotional wreck, Sinead talks to him candidly about her death.
She says that she needs to know she can trust him and that he’ll be there for Bertie when she’s gone.
A distraught Daniel assures her he will.
Later, Sinead urges Daniel to stop punishing himself and smiles lovingly at him. Daniel is happy to know she’s forgiven him.
As the day progresses, Sinead makes plans with Billy Mayhew for her funeral. Dr Gaddas calls round and tells Sinead it’s too late to move her to the hospice now due to her fragile state.
Daniel reels as Sinead realises it’s time to start saying her goodbyes. She wakes later to find her family gathered around her bed and takes comfort as they bicker over silly stuff. When everyone leaves, Sinead squeezes Daniel’s hand, aware her time is running out?
Sinead later passes away peacefully with Daniel and Bertie on the bed with her. Daniel lies down beside her and holds her, crying silent tears as he realises they’ll have to get used to life without Sinead.
Later, Daniel calls Beth to tell her that Sinead has died.
