Coronation Street cancelled – ITV’s scheduling changes this week explained
IT’S sad news for Coronation Street fans as tonight’s visit to Weatherfield has been cancelled due to an Euro 2020 England match.
Like Friday, the ITV soap has been removed from schedules due to a qualifying match.
This time, the England team face off with Bulgaria following Friday’s 2-1 defeat by the Czech Republic.
Corrie hasn’t been on screens since last Wednesday (October 9) when fans saw Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) learn that she only has weeks to live.
Along with husband, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), the young mum was told that her life expectancy is now just a matter of weeks, leaving the young couple completely crushed.
It was also the day of Ken Barlow’s 80th birthday and so Sinead decided to put on a brave face for her father-in-law.
Her husband then told her that he’d planned a surprise first birthday party for their son, Bertie, aware that Sinead won’t be there for the official day in January.
In the yard of the Rovers, Sinead leaves her friends and family shocked and saddened by her news.
Corrie fans were left disappointed by the announcement that they would have to wait an entire week to find out what happens next with Sinead.
And while Emmerdale was given an extra long episode on Tuesday, it has now been confirmed that from Monday October 21 there will be a week packed full of soapy goodness with a huge seven episodes of both Corrie and Emmerdale airing over the week.
Corrie will have an extra episode airing on Thursday October 24 at 8.30pm, while Emmerdale will have an extended hour-long episode on Tuesday October 22.
Spoilers revealing the week’s action packed episode will be revealed at midnight.
When we pick up with the Weatherfield residents again on Wednesday (October 16), there’s a shock for Shona Ramsey when Marion – evil Callum Logan’s mum – turns up on the cobbles with plans to apply for custody of Max.
Elsewhere, Sarah Platt gets a fright when baby Harry is knocked unconscious and Sinead’s health deteriorates even more, leaving her wheelchair-bound and weak.
