Eastenders spoilers: Abuser Gray throws wife Chantelle a party to celebrate her pregnancy – despite punching her in the stomach in horrific attack
ABUSIVE husband Gray Atkins will plan a party in EastEnders next week to celebrate wife Chantelle’s unexpected pregnancy.
He gets the idea when she spots Chantelle’s mum, Karen Taylor, looking down in the dumps.
Gray suggests to Chantelle that they throw a party to celebrate their happy, nappy news to try and cheer her up.
But will it work?
Domestic abuser Gray, who’s played by Toby Alexander Smith in the BBC soap, will this week be seen lying to his wife when he doesn’t come home for a night.
When Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) quizzes him about his whereabouts he tells her that he spent the night at work.
But it soon becomes clear that he’s lying when Jack Branning and another colleague from the police arrive to question him about a fight in a nightclub.
Fans have already been concerned about Gray’s questionable relationship with the truth after he told Chantelle that he was getting therapy for his anger and violence issues.
The solicitor claimed to be seeking treatment for his violent attacks on his pregnant wife.
He has been shown to be a quiet terrorist inside the confines of the couple's house, brutally beating Chantelle once the doors are closed for any and all imagined slights.
Gray even once locked her inside for a week to use her as a punch bag because he felt humiliated by her being close with her family.
However, after discovering Chantelle is pregnant with their third child, he has tried to stop his violent outbursts towards his wife and started to destroy household objects instead.
He was supposed to have seen a therapist late last month, but fans were dubious as it wasn’t shown on screen.
And when he returned home to Chantelle he was evasive about what it was like.
He told her: "I don't want to talk about it."
After a pause he added: "But it's good, I need to do this. I need to do this.
"I am never going to lay an angry finger on you again, I promise."

Fans are now convinced he lied about attending therapy.
