Game of Thrones fans convinced Jon Snow had secret twin who was cut from show
JON Snow could have had some stiff competition when it came to his birth right and the Iron Throne.
The final season of Game of Thrones saw Jon (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) grapple with their respective claims to power.
But some fans think Jon had a secret twin brother who shared his lineage.
In George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books, upon which the show was based, a character called Young Griff was introduced in the fifth book.
Young Griff is supposedly the long-lost son of Rhaegar Targaryen, the rightful heir to the throne, and the estranged brother of Jon.
While his identity as Aegon Targaryen remained unverified, some fans have taken to social media to make the case that Young Griff was Jon’s twin brother.

“Could Jon Snow an Young Griff be fraternal twins?” Reddit user drop_top_minivan asked.
“My theory is that Young Griff is not who he claims he is, but instead is Lyanna and Rhaegar's son.
“When Ned entered the Tower of Joy he found a bloodied Lyanna but instead of only finding Jon alone he also found Young Griff,” they went on.
“He took Jon to The North since he was the Northern-looking one and left Griff with Howland Reed.”
Fans will remember that Howland Reed (Leo Woodruff) helped Ned Stark (Sean Bean) rescue Jon after his mother, Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi) gave birth.
The theory continued: “After that I don't know if Howland gave the baby to Varys or to Jon Connington or something like that.”
The post soon received hundreds of upvotes and was met with messages of agreement.
“I reckon show bosses cut it because there wasn’t time to explore another potential ruler,” one like-minded viewer speculated.
Another chimed in: “Maybe Griff was taken away before Ned and his friends arrived? That could be why Ned didn’t pursue him.”
Jon Snow has been the subject of much debate recently, after it was revealed that in Martin’s original pitch, he embarked on a relationship with Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).
