THAT'S A BID GROSS

Britney’s used pregnancy test, the ‘Queen’s knickers’ and now Ed Sheeran’s slippers – the creepiest celebrity items fans have snapped up

CELEBRITY superfans will go to extreme lengths to get their hands on keepsakes that have a connection to their idol.

But when Ed Sheeran's smelly old slippers went on sale in a charity shop this week, some people were disgusted that anyone would want them at all.

Staff at the shop hope the well-worn footwear will fetch as much as £200 from fans wanting to literally follow in Ed's footsteps.

But those tattered slippers are actually amongst the least offensive items of celebrity memorabilia that fans have snapped up over the years.

Here are some of the grossest and most bizarre souvenirs fans have spent good money on...

Set phasers to stun-ingly awful

William Shatner boldly explored the final frontier of space in Star Trek — but he also pushed the boundaries in celebrity auctions too.

Because in 2006, he sold his own kidney stone for a whopping £14,000.

Kidney stones, which can be blindingly painful if they're big enough, form when your blood's waste products form crystals that build up inside your kidneys.

Shatner boasted that the one he sold was so big that "you'd want to wear it on your finger".

The lot even included the stent and string used to allow him to pass the kidney stone out of his penis.

They were bought by online casino GoldenPalace.com, and the money was donated by Shatner to a housing charity.

While celebrities often donate their possessions for charity auctions, Shatner went just that little bit further.

Or, some would think, a bit too far.

Oops, they did it again: the same online casino that snapped up Shatner's kidney stone also bought something Britney Spears, 37, is said to have peed on.

In 2005, they purchased a positive pregnancy test that Spears had allegedly used in a Los Angeles hotel room.

It was apparently found in the room's bin after the One More Time hitmaker and her then-husband Kevin Federline checked out.

The test was said to have been obtained in early 2005, which could mean it was heralding Spears' first son Sean, who was born that September.

The star didn't comment on whether or not the test belonged to her.

The casino forked out $5,001 for the used test, with the proceeds again going to charitable causes.

And that price is a steal when you consider that a piece of chewing gum Britney spat out sold for $14,000 on eBay a year earlier.

Item: Elvis Presley's soiled pants

Sold for: A bid of £5,000 was rejected by seller, who wanted at least £7,000

Elvis Presley is probably most commonly pictured in his glorious white-tasselled jumpsuits.

But his fans want anything that the King ever wore — including his soiled underwear.

In 2012, a Stockport auctioneer tried to flog a pair of unwashed undies that Elvis wore while performing in 1977.

The unwashed briefs, complete with blotted sweat stains in the gusset, were expected to fetch £10,000.

Incredibly, someone bid £5,000 for the lot, but no one was prepared to meet the reserve price of £7,000.

Can't imagine why.

People don't just want The King of Pop's underwear — they've also bought what's claimed to be the Queen of England's knickers.

That's right, a pair of silk knickers embroidered with the letter E and a crown were sold on eBay in 2012 for over £11,000.

The royal garment, which was sold as part of a Hungarian aristocrat's estate, was said to have been left on a private plane used by the Queen on a trip to Chile in 1968.

Sellers claimed the pilot nabbed the knickers and then gave them to the aristocrat, who was his friend.

Listing them as "previously used", the owners said it was up to the buyer to authenticate the item before bidding as Buckingham Palace refused to comment.

Last year, the Queen's bra fitter lost its royal warrant to make Her Majesty's underwear after the company's owner wrote a book about her professional life.

The Beatles may have the most extreme fans in the history of music — and they have the memorabilia to prove it.

The Imagine songwriter gave the tooth to his housekeeper in the 1960s as a gift for her daughter who was a fan of the band.

In 2011, Canadian dentist Michael Zuk bought John Lennon's yellowy brown tooth, which had a cavity in it, for £19,500.

Delighted tooth-collector Mr Zuk said at the time: "Once I heard it was up for sale I had to have it.

"Some people will think its gross, others will be fascinated by it."

Last year, Mr Zuk announced he would use the tooth's DNA to help people claiming to be love children of Lennon get part of his £400million estate.

Lady Gaga's hardcore fans, who call themselves "Monsters", really lived up to their beastly name when a huge bidding war kicked off for one of the singer's fake fingernails.

The memento was auctioned off by one of Gaga's roadies who spotted it after a gig in Dublin.

In the official listing, the seller wrote: "I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum.

"When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail."

In 2013, one delighted mega-fan paid an astonishing £8,500 for the black and gold nail.

Scarlett Johansson's 2008 film The Spirit was a box office flop, but something connected to the movie did end making a lot of money.

Because a tissue Johansson used to blow her nose with during a chat show promotion of the film sold for £3,600 at auction.

The mucus and lipstick covered tissue was put in a bag and signed by the actor before it was flogged on eBay.

She'd used the tissue twice during an appearance on The Tonight Show because she'd caught a cold from her co-star Samuel L. Jackson, which she joked gave her illness more "value".

All of the money from the auction was donated by Johansson to an American hunger charity, USA Harvest.

In 2000, while NSync were at the height of their popularity, Justin Timberlake didn't finish some french toast he was given during a breakfast radio interview.

And instead of letting the food go to waste, the SexyBack singer signed the slightly burned slices and let the DJ sell them — for $1,025.

A 19-year-old NSync fan Kathy Summers splashed out on the half-eaten toast and shared her strange plans for them.

She said: "I'll probably freeze-dry it, then seal it...

"Then put it on my dresser."

Wildlife presenter Chris Packham is now auctioning off his hatemail - and it even includes a wooden penis
