Brit winner Tom Walker wages war on Liam and Noel Gallagher, branding the pair ‘pathetic’ for failing to reunite for Manchester’s One Love gig
THE OASIS brothers have another British newcomer to contend with after Noel Gallagher spent the past few months verbally sparring with Lewis Capaldi.
Not afraid to mince his words, Leave A Light On singer Tom Walker has branded Noel and Liam “pathetic” for their tedious ten-year feud, which shows no signs of ending.
Despite previously being a big fan of the brothers, he turned on them after they failed to reunite for 2017’s One Love Manchester benefit concert held in response to the Manchester Arena terror attack that left 22 people dead.
During a visit to Bizarre HQ, Tom, who grew up in nearby Chelford, said: “I’m a big fan of Oasis but they just need to sort their stuff out.
“It’s like, ‘stop arguing’, it’s pathetic at this point. It’s so annoying. When they didn’t get together for the Manchester gig I was so, so upset at them.
“They are the voice of Manchester. There’s nobody that could bring the people of Manchester back together more than those two.
“The fact that they couldn’t put their petty arguments aside for one day and sort it out really upset me. I’m kind of done with them.”
British Breakthrough Brit award winner Tom will release a deluxe edition of his hit album What A Time To Be Alive on November 8, which will include four new songs, after the original shifted more than 200,000 copies. And it comes with new single Better Half Of Me, out on Friday, ahead of his sold-out UK tour which will kick-off this month.
On the romantic song, inspired by his partner Annie, he said: “I got engaged last year to the love of my life, who I’ve just spent six and a half years with, and that’s what the song is about.
“It’s about me being away on tour and getting engaged and not seeing my missus for a whole year after getting engaged.
“I think we’ve seen each other like 20 times this year or something mental because I’ve just been away so much.”
But they will finally get to spend more time together in 2020, as he will be taking much of the year off to write his second album.
He explained: “It took me 27 years to write the first album and it was all about my mates and my missus and my family, and I’ve spent the last year not really seeing those people . . . I feel like I have to have an every day life.”
