CARINA Lepore has won The Apprentice 2019.
She and fellow candidate Scarlett Allen-Horton both impressed Lord Sugar enough to make it to the final, but ultimately, the business guru chose to hire Carina.
What has Carina said about winning The Apprentice 2019?
Understandably, Carina was over the moon after being announced this year's winner of The Apprentice.
Speaking to the Press Association, she said: "It's like this euphoric relief. I was so overwhelmed and so happy. It's a feeling that I haven't really felt.
"Me and Scarlett said it the whole way through - we have got massive respect for each other.
"She is a great businesswoman and she was tough competition for me. I knew that.
"To get told 'You're hired' by Lord Sugar, it was an incredible feeling."
Later, she also took to Twitter to thank those who have been tuning into this year's series.
She wrote: "Say hello to @Lord_Sugar 's new business partner! What an amazing experience to have won @BBCApprentice and I'm so incredibly excited to begin the next step in the @doughbakehouse journey! Thank you so much to everyone's support throughout the past 12 weeks. #TheApprentice."
How did Carina win The Apprentice 2019?
In the final, Carina and Scarlett were both tasked with creating digital screens and TV adverts for their business proposals.
The pair then had to present their works to Lord Sugar as well as 250 industry experts at London's City Hall.
Carina owns the Dough Artisan Bakehouse in Herne Hill, where her father is the head baker, and her business plan is to open a franchise on "every high street across the UK".
Weighing up his options, Lord Sugar decided that he wanted to invest in Carina's bakery company as opposed to Scarlett's recruitment firm - an area he has invested in twice previously.
Explaining his decision, Lord Sugar said: "When you look at the high street these days, that's all it's packed with - food. Scarlett - two past winners are recruitment companies, and do I want to throw more eggs into that basket?"
What is the prize for The Apprentice winner?
Carina will get a £250,000 cash injection into her business idea and a 50/50 partnership with Lord Sugar.
In 2018, Sian Gabbidon won the series and secured an investment from Lord Sugar for her swimwear brand.
Speaking to The Sun online after her win she said: “I believe in my business and myself. I think I proved to him [Lord Sugar] I was a really strong contestant.
“As a businesswoman I always aim high. I did get people saying I will never set up a functioning business in Leeds and I did it.”
How did the other candidates do on The Apprentice 2019?
It's been a tough series packed with several candidates deserving of Lord Sugar's attention.
But not everyone made the cut - here's when the other contestants were fired...
Pamela Laird - fired week 11
Beauty boss Pamela made her way to the final five but was ditched after the brutal interview process to determine the final two.
The 29-year-old attributes the success of her beauty company to her “entrepreneurial gene”.
She describes herself as feisty and passionate with a charismatic personality, which enables her to excel in sales.
Pamela acknowledges she can be impatient and demanding and often finds it difficult to delegate tasks.
But Pamela – who has her own beauty products brand called Moxi Loves - says she’ll use the experience she gained on the show by becoming a business tycoon just like tan mogul Marissa.
She said: "I loved every minute of it, and it was such an amazing opportunity. I genuinely didn’t think I was going to make it that far.
"You look at Marissa Carter and she’s managed to crack the USA so definitely, it’s next on my list. "
Lewis Ellis - fired week 11
Lewis Ellis, 28, is a digital marketing project manager from Lancashire.
He made it to the final five but crumbled at the interview stage - with Lord Sugar's aides questioning his business plan and experience in the field he plans on branching into.
Speaking about going on the show he said: “I may not be the smartest guy in the room, but I’ll sure as hell work harder.”
Lewis made headlines during his time on the show for allegedly hooking up fellow competitor Lottie Lion and when he had a row with Lord Sugar about his tattoos.
Lottie Lion - fired week 11
The Librarian with a bite, Lottie Lion provided viewers with a constant stream of clashes with other contestants throughout her time on the show.
At just 19, Lottie had her heart set on creating a members only club for ladies in the country.
But sadly for the teenager from Cornwall her dreams were dashed in the boardroom after she fell at the final hurdle - the interview process.
The Sun's Dan Wootton revealed last week, the 19-year-old was prevented from appearing on spin-off You're Fired - leaving many viewers wondering where she was.
Lottie has come in for criticism throughout the series after her fellow contestants accused her of being racist in a group WhatsApp conversation.
The programme's bosses have now banned her from "any further activity" around The Apprentice because of the "unacceptable comments".
Dean Ahmad - fired week 10
Dean was shown the door after he failed on the perfume making task, but the 20-year-old from Essex said Lewis threw him under the bus in the boardroom after Lord Sugar fired him.
He is the owner of a sports management agency and founded the company at the age of 15.
A modest Dean believes he is the “definition of an entrepreneur” and says his confidence and emotional intelligence are “off the charts”.
Lewis – who messed up the packaging of the bottle for the perfume task - decided to point the finger of blame at Dean and he ended up going home.
Speaking about Lewis’ betrayal, he said: “I think Lewis did throw me under the bus to an extent. I hadn’t worked with him until task two, so his judgment of me is irrelevant and has no grounding. I was very surprised.
Marianne Rawlins - fired in week 9
Rawlins was one of two apprentices to be fired in a shock double elimination on Wednesday night (November 27).
The candidates had been given a task to represent a music artist and things did not end too well for the management consultant owner, who was sent packing by Lord Sugar.
According to , the American believed she didn't have a connection with Lord Sugar and expected to be fired this week.
She said: "I think Lord Sugar made a decision based on our connection. I don't think we had much of one and I don't think he could relate to me."
The former candidate has no regrets about leaving but did think she could have done better in certain situations.
Thomas Skinner - fired in week 9
Fan favourite Thomas Skinner after failing to impress in the challenge to represent a music artist.
He sad to have left and admitted that he was limited in some areas compared to some of the other candidates.
Speaking with a shocked Skinner said: "I can’t believe I’ve gone."
The 28-year-old said he is not quite sure what the future holds but is confident in his abilities.
"I’m gonna keep doing what I’m doing. I’m up every single day at four in the morning to get down the yard selling beds and mattresses, so I’m gonna keep working that and keep building a business."
Ryan-Mark Parsons - fired in week 8
The budding businessman became the eighth person to be booted off the 2019 series of The Apprentice on November 20.
Ryan-Mark Parson, who sells luxury women's lingerie at Harrods, had led team Empower, which included Pamela Laird, Marianne Rawlins and Thomas Skinner in a task which involved them organising corporate away days.
They went up against opposing project manager Lottie Lion in the challenge but in the boardroom it was revealed team Empower had lost the task by just £15.50.
As a result, Ryan-Mark had to face Lord Sugar and decided to take Pamela and Marianne with him, however, Thomas offered to take Pamela's place, as he did not feel she deserved to go.
Following a fierce debate between the three, Lord Sugar made the decision to send Ryan-Mark home.
Jemelin Artigas - fired in week 7
Jemelin Artigas' time on the 15th series of The Apprentice came to an abrupt end in the seventh week of the show.
The contestants travelled to film an advertising campaign to promote Finland as a tourist destination to the UK.
But when they returned she was fired by Lord Sugar, as her team failed to win the task.
The 34-year-old revealed she had mixed feelings about getting the sack.
Speaking following her departure, she said: “It was mixed emotions I think, part of me felt that I was ready to go, that I didn’t see myself any more as his business partner, part of me was gutted because I felt I could have done so much more.”
Iasha Masood - fired in week 6
Iasha Masood was booted off The Apprentice after failing to impress Lord Sugar and co in the rollercoaster task in week six.
Lord Sugar said: “Accusations flying around, left, right and centre that you don’t do anything. I’m sorry I think it’s a little too late, so Iasha, you’re fired.”
As she was driven home in a taxi, Iasha declared: "I don’t feel like I was the weakest candidate in that room.
“If I was given a bit more time, I would have been able to show Lord Sugar what I was actually capable of.”
In the challenge that sent her home, the candidates were given just two days to come up with an amusement park ride concept.
Riyonn Farsad - fired in week 5
Riyonn Farsad escaped elimination in episode one of The Apprentice 2019 but he was not so lucky in week five.
The event manager from South London was booted off the competition after being accused of "wasting time" in a task which involved the candidates sourcing and purchasing a list of items from Oxford and Cambridge.
After receiving the chop he told producers he believed Lord Sugar had "missed an opportunity".
Lubna Farham - fired in week 4
Lubna Farhan was fired by Lord Sugar in episode four after Team Unison failed to make the numbers with the sale of their electric bike.
The 33-year-old financial analyst failed to make much of a contribution towards the redesign on the team E-Fit electric bike.
The wheels came off as bad decisions made sales an uphill struggle, with Lubna failing to make any sales at all.
Team Unison clashed over several parts of the design and sales tactics as they lost to their rivals.
Project manager Tom Skinner decided to keep Lubna and Marianna in the boardroom with him.
He said: “Lubna didn’t contribute to the negotiation, to the branding… in this task she didn’t contribute anything.”
After consulting with Karen, Lord Sugar decided Lubna had failed to impress the most.
Souleyman Bah - fired in week 3
Souleyman Bah was fired by Lord Sugar in episode three after a disastrous week trying to design a toy.
The 20-year-old, who is a para athlete, didn't impress after failing to contribute towards the design of a toy aimed at six to eight-year-olds.
Team Empower's talking turtle ended up completely missing the mark when designing a toy for a younger demographic - receiving no corporate orders from clients.
After the team pointed out his constant negativity and lack of contribution towards the task, he was shown the door by Lord Sugar.
Kenna Ngoma - fired in week 2
Kenna Ngoma was the second person Lord Sugar decided to send home following a disastrous week trying to sell ice lollies.
Everything from the concept to the taste and the "premium" appeal was completely off with the boys.
After Kenna decided to keep Ryan and Dean in the boardroom with him, he still couldn't convince Lord Sugar that he was in the right, after losing a task he was supposed to have managed.
Shahim Hassan - fired in week 1
Shahin Hassan became the first person to be eliminated from the 15th series of The Apprentice.
His team struggled to generate sales for their bespoke tour, which consisted of a cheap-and-cheerful safari in Cape Town.
The boys also made several promises to potential customers, claiming that they would take them on a tour that would include the big five.
The big five comprises of lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and Cape buffalos - yet only three of those were seen during the safari trip.
Their total resulted in a measly £476.19.
