Coronation Street spoilers: Sophie Webster leaves the cobbles for good after being dumped by Paula – as Brooke Vincent’s exit scenes are revealed
SOPHIE Webster will bid goodbye to Coronation Street next week as she leaves to join Kate Connor in her travels.
Sophie – who’s played by Brooke Vincent in the ITV soap – gets the money to fund her trip from her aunt Debbie who hands her a cheque before Aunty Vi’s funeral.
Later, Sophie’s lover, Paula Martin – Sterling Gallagher - suggests that Sophie drops her business course and that they go travelling in Cambodia instead.
Sophie is taken aback by Paula’s suggestion but pleased.
Later still, Paula convinces Sophie that they should leave for Cambodia that night and Sophie agrees.
But it soon transpires that Paula had no intention of going with her and was just using as a way for Sophie to follow her heart.
Along with Kevin, Sally and Tim, Paula bids an emotional goodbye to Sophie as she leaves for Cambodia.
Actress Brooke quit the cobbles back in August as she left for maternity leave.
Brooke shared her emotional final moments on the set after shooting scenes in Dev's corner shop.
In the clips, several cast and crew, including Antony Cotton who plays Sean Tully and Mikey North who plays Gary Windass, said goodbye to the mum-to-be.
The star was clearly emotional as she received a bouquet of flowers from on-screen mum Sally Dynevor, who stepped forward to give a touching speech.
She told her: "We're going to miss you so much.
"Oh Brooke we all love you so much, you've been here since you were 11. This is your home.
"You can come back anytime you want to, bring the baby."
Over on Instagram, Brooke wrote: "I can’t believe 15 years ago I came onto the street to play “Sophie Webster” and today I left to play my biggest role yet “Mummy” my amazing family at Coronation Street I am going to miss you all so much.
"Thank you for always looking after me, for keeping me on the straight and narrow and for letting me get away with murder over the years.
