DOG the Bounty Hunter has revealed he suffered a potentially deadly blood clot in his lungs when he was rushed to hospital.
Earlier this month the 66-year-old was admitted with chest pain following wife in June from cancer.
Now Dog — real name Duane Chapman — has revealed the cause of his brief hospital stint in Colorado was a pulmonary embolism.
In a clip of Monday’s episode of The Dr Oz Show, the TV star reveals the diagnosis and explains how it changed his attitude about death.
Dog said: “I said, after Beth left, 'I'm not afraid to die'.
“I take that back. I'm not afraid to [die], but I don't want to.”
A pulmonary embolism is a potentially killer condition where a blood clot travels to your lungs before blocking blood flow to them.
After learning he had this, the bounty hunter said he was afraid.
He said: “Oh I was afraid to die. I said ‘please let go of my heart, honey.
“‘Quit squeezing my heart.”
'TICKING TIME BOMB'
Dr Mehmet Oz then said: “You’re a ticking time bomb.
“You’re not going to be here with the heart the way it is right now. Fear of death is normal.
“I’m surprised you don’t fear death when you’re chasing after convicts.
“But when you run away from doctor, that means you have to do your own doctoring.”

Dog previously said he thought he was suffering from a “broken heart” following his wife Beth’s death.
According to People, he said was “weary of doctors and hospitals”.
But he vowed he would not be going to go out without a fight and he’s on the road to recovery.
The stricken celeb was crushed by the death of his wife this summer, aged just 51, and recently admitted his life has fallen apart since.
