The Walking Dead’s Negan actor urges bosses not to ‘run show into the ground’ after they reveal there’s ‘decades of content left’

THE Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan has urged bosses not to "run the show into the ground" so it "goes out on top".

The 53-year-old actor plays Negan in the hit AMC post-apocalyptic horror series, which returns with its 10th season next month.

Earlier this month, AMC CEO Josh Sapan revealed he show has "decades and decades" of storylines left, but Jeffrey has admitted he hopes this isn't the case.

Speaking to Variety, he said: "You don't want to run it into the ground.

"Me personally, I'd say let's go out on top. Let's go out still being the number one show in the world.

"Whether or not that happens, I don't know. I think if we just stuck with the comic book, we've still got another three years.

"We do deviate a lot, but I think there's probably a good three years of material there."

This is slightly at odds with what CEO Josh said at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference this month.

He revealed: "We have an awful lot of life left in The Walking Dead.

Robert Kinkman's original comics ended abruptly over the summer, but The Walking Dead's showrunner Angela Kang has hinted the TV show may not follow the same path.

She said: "Depending at the pace we go, it could be very fast at the end or it could be very slow.
