EASTENDERS' Christmas is going to be the most explosive yet as Sharon Mitchell's affair with Keanu Taylor is exposed.
Soap boss Kate Oates has revealed viewers will be surprised at where the storyline goes as pregnant Sharon's secret will be exposed to husband Phil and pregnant stepdaughter Louise over the festive season - and Mel Owen is to blame.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, EastEnders boss Kate said: "She does [want revenge] and because she's very driven and bitter, Sharon needs to watch her back.
"That's a really big drive through autumn, and then it's going to be a massive story at Christmas.
"And what I like about it is all of the fall out, if I asked you to guess the fall out now, you wouldn't guess what we've got."
Viewers have watched for months as the drama has played out with Keanu seducing Sharon while Phil was away on business, with several near misses at being caught.
The couple continued their affair when Phil returned and paid Keanu to protect Louise from some dodgy gangsters, causing the pair to fall for each other.
Both Louise and Sharon are now expecting Keanu's baby but Sharon's E20 business partner Mel discovered the truth and has been blackmailing Sharon.
The truth will out over Christmas as the family reel from Sharon's betrayal and Phil realises he isn't going to be a father again.
Kate promised Christmas would centre around the Mitchells and the "explosive" reveal.

She said: "It's going to be a big Mitchell extravaganza and all of the things that that covers but as I say, we will be pulling in some other characters into the storyline that you wouldn't expect.
"It mixes up the dynamics in a really refreshing way.
"What I like about it is you know you think of the classic affair reveals and how that might play out and they're always exciting and they're always good value for money but we want it to go differently with this so we have."
