ITV2’s Ibiza Weekender in HUGE shake-up as it gets new location when it returns after two years off air

IBIZA Weekender is coming back – but with a twist.

The outrageous ITV2 hit has been off screens for two years and when it returns later this year, it will be based in Kavos, Greece.

The move from the Balearic island after seven series to the new location is seen as a bid to shake up and breathe new life into the long running franchise.

The new series will comprise of ten episodes of fun and frolics.

An ITV release teasing the new direction said: “The programme guarantees the ups and downs, romances and tongue-in-cheek adventures of a holiday in one of the nation’s favourite holiday hotspots.”

Satmohan Panesar, Commissioning Editor, Factual Entertainment added: “We’ve missed the high jinks of our reps and holidaymakers – Kavos is the perfect destination to get back to the party.”

Dan Adamson, Managing Director of production company Twofour who make the franchise said: “We are incredibly proud of the long-running Weekender series and excited we’ll be back partying in a new location as we move the brand forward.”

It is believed the new look show will premiere on ITV’s new streaming service, ITVX, which will replace ITV Hub later this year.

The show will then air on ITV2 once it’s been on the streamer.

Ibiza Weekender made stars of its colourful cast of holiday reps, including David Potts, Jordan Davies and Imogen Townley.

The franchise launned in 2013 as Magaluf Weekender, before relocating to Ibiza in 2015.
