Disney+ is out NOW! UK release date, price and Netflix comparison

DISNEY fans are rejoicing as the movie giant has finally launched their streaming service here in the UK.

Viewers across Europe can access the new platform Disney+ which includes blockbuster films like Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar movies.

When was Disney+ launched in the UK?

Viewers in the UK can stream from Disney+ NOW.

The streaming service launched at midnight today (March 24, 2020).

Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland can also stream now as well.

The service has been available in the USA, Canada, the Netherlands Australia and New Zealand since November 2019.

What is Disney+?

Disney Plus is a video streaming service, with a paid subscription, which is free from advertising and has content from Disney and Fox.

Also, exclusive TV shows, movies, documentaries and shorts will be available on the service.

Content from Marvel, Lucasfilm (i.e Star Wars), Pixar, National Geographic and all 30 seasons of The Simpsons is included too.

In addition, Disney’s other streaming services – Hulu and ESPN Plus – will run on the same platform.

How much does Disney+ cost?

A year’s subscription will cost £59.99, equivalent to £4.99 a month. You .

There is also the option to pay monthly, but that will cost £5.99 a month - or £71.88 over a year.

You can cancel your subscription at any time, although you will not get a refund for any months you haven't used.

This service is much cheaper than the standard Amazon Prime Video subscription which is £7.99 a month, or Netflix which is £8.99.

How do I watch Disney+?

The streaming service is supported by a number of devices, including phones, tablets, computers, games consoles, connected TVs and streaming media boxes.

Disney+ allows users the luxury of unlimited downloads on as many as ten different devices, personalised recommendations and being able to set up to seven different profiles.

Parents can monitor their children's activity on the streaming platform with Kids Profiles, that has an easy- to -navigate, child-friendly interface to access age-appropriate content.

What shows and movies are on Disney+?

An extensive list of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic content is available on Disney +.

A colossal 500 films, more than 350 series, and 26 exclusive Disney+ Originals are available on Disney+ now.

The Sound of Music, The Princess Bride and Malcolm in the Middle will join the service in the first year.

Disney’s animation classics such as The Lion King and Snow White are on there.

The Simpsons has also been added to the bill.
