Where is Winterwatch filmed?
WINTERWATCH is back on BBC Two for its eighth series.
But where is the spectacular show filmed? Let's have a look.
Where is Winterwatch filmed?
Winterwatch 2021 is filmed at various locations across the UK, partly because of social distancing guidelines and lockdown restrictions.
In the past, the series has been filmed in the Scottish Highlands, in the wilds of the Cairngorms, the UK’s largest National Park.
But 2020 marked the last time it was filmed in Scotland - and Micheala Strachan's absence means there will not be a live presenter from Scotland this series.
In a further change, Gillian Burke will not be live from RSPB Old Moor in Yorkshire, but she is instead based in Cornwall, at The Beaver Project, where she was based for Springwatch.
While the new series will not be live in either Scotland or South Yorkshire, filming has taken place in Tentsmuir and Old Moor over the winter months.
Chris Packham is presenting the show from the New Forest alongside Megan McCubbin.
Iolo Williams is based in Wales, at the Centre for Alternative Technology, where he was for Autumnwatch 2020.
Winterwatch 2021 will have live cameras in the New Forest and on the River Ness in Scotland, and a range of VTs and Mindful Moments from around the UK.
Where was the Winterwatch studio?
The Winterwatch studio was based at The Dell of Abernethy, a lodge built in 1780 which sits on the edge of the Abernethy Caledonian pine forest.
From here, the team showcased the whole region, seeking out the wildlife that thrives in this challenging habitat, and looking at the people and projects working to conserve it.

When is Winterwatch on?
The eighth series of Winterwatch launched on January 20, 2021 at 8pm.
Episode 8 airs TONIGHT (January 29) on BBC Two at 8pm.
