The show has been running since 1997, and some fans wonder which contestant has achieved the highest score in the famous black chair - and who has done the worst.
What is the highest ever Mastermind score?
The highest-ever Mastermind score is 41 points and was obtained by Kevin Ashman in 1995, with his specialist subject being The Life of Martin Luther King.
Kevin went on to become the world's number one quizzer, taking part in world and European championships.
He has been on Eggheads since 2003 and from 2002 to 2006 he was one of the question setters for Radio Four's quiz show Brain Of Britain.
Kevin also won Sale Of The Century, Screen Test, Quiz Night, Trivial Pursuit and The Great British Quiz.
Meanwhile, the highest score for the celebrity version of the show is 36 points.
This was achieved by antiques expert Hilary Kay and Dodger actor Rhys Thomas in two separate editions in 2010.
What is the lowest ever Mastermind score?
Gogglebox star Amy Tapper was left red-faced after a disastrous appearance on Celebrity Mastermind in November 2022.
This was because she only got ONE point in her specialist subject round, which was questions about Adam Sadler.
Amy exclaimed "one is better than none" as she laughed off her result.
She then achieved just ONE more point in the general knowledge section giving her a total of just TWO points.
Before this, Parasport athlete Kadeena Cox, Darren Bent, and Kimberly Wyatt jointly held the lowest score of three points.
Kadeena appeared on the Celebrity edition of the show in December 2016 and got three specialist questions correct, but failed to get any points in the general knowledge.
Darren and Kimberly both scored one point on their specialist subjects and two on general knowledge.
Can you win money on Mastermind?
Unlike other game shows, there is no cash prize for winning Mastermind.
However, the victor receives a Caithness Glass bowl - each one is unique and decorated by engraver Denis Mann.
They also have the honour and glory of being crowned Mastermind champion.
Previous winners have gone on to become minor celebrities such as London cabbie Fred Housego who won in 1980.
