Is Veronica based on a true story?
What makes Veronica so scary is that it is based on a true story.
In 1992 Madrid police investigated the mysterious death of a young girl, Estefania Gutierrez Lazaro.
She passed away in hospital shortly after meddling with a Ouija board.
The case was never really solved and remains "unexplained" to this day.
Some viewers have said that they can't watch it to the end.
One said: "Scary film recommendation: ‘Veronica’ on Netflix. Those true story horror films really do their job.
"I watched a good hour of it through my hand. Looking forward to my nightmare fuelled sleeps."
But others have claimed it is not the scariest film ever, with Psycho, The Exorcist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Shining voted among the worst.
Others have said that Hereditary is the scariest film of 2018.
