MATT Goss has been confirmed as the eighth contestant for Strictly Come Dancing 2022.
The news was unveiled on This Morning on Monday, August 8, as the Bros singer stepped out.
Who is Matt Goss?
Matthew Weston Goss is a British singer-songwriter and musician from London, England.
The star was born on September 29, 1968, in London – and has lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the US.
He is best known for being a member of the 80s pop group Bros with his twin brother Luke and friend Craig Logan.
Matt was the lead singer of the group, whose debut album Push went platinum four times and remained on the UK charts for 54 weeks.
Their biggest tunes were When Will I Be Famous and I Owe You Nothing, and they released tracks between 1986 and 1992 before disbanding – however they announced a revival in 2017.
In 1996, he began a solo singing career and released 23 solo singles so far, with four reaching the UK Top 40.
As a result, he has an estimated net worth of around $4million, - £3.3million.
Is Matt Goss married and does he have any children?
The singer dumped his last girlfriend as she was too obsessed.
But in March 2022, Goss revealed that he has found love again and is planning to move back to the UK to live.
He said: “I am dating. It is great. That feels nice.
“She is funny and not obsessed with social media in any way.”
Among others, he has enjoyed romances with actress Martine McCutcheon, presenter Melanie Sykes and actress Rebecca Ferguson.
The star was engaged to Daisy Fuentes, a Cuban-American TV host, for seven years until 2010.
What has Matt Goss said about being on Strictly?
On August 8, 2022, Matt revealed that he is to take part in Strictly while appearing on an episode of This Morning with his brother Luke.
Speaking about signing up on the show, he explained that it was so under wraps that he even had his own nickname for producers to use to make sure it wasn't exposed.
He said: "I’ve been asked to do it before but I think honestly, for me where I am in my life, 11 years in Vegas, all the venues I’ve played – I want to just get out of my own way, let go a little bit and have some fun.
"I’m quite shy off stage, I’m gonna have to face all those demons and just learn."
He added: "I’m sure I’m gonna get a hard time now and then, but I’m going to do my best."
This won't be the first time Matt has appeared on the show, having performed in the Christmas special in 2013 where he danced alongside professional Aliona Vilani.
He also appeared a year later, where he sang White Christmas.
