Why is Deal or No Deal not on today?

VIEWERS have been left fuming after Deal or No Deal was replaced in ITV’s schedules.
The popular game show has been a fan favourite ever since it first aired in 2005 and came back to our screens in 2023.
Deal or No Deal was swapped out of the ITV schedule this week after the second season of Stephen Mulhern's version wrapped up on Friday, February 14, 2025.
The game show has now been swapped out for Tipping Point, a change that hasn’t exactly thrilled game show fans.
And so far, there’s no word on a third season.
But if ITV bosses take a peek at the hashtag, they’ll see just how much love the show is getting.
The second season brought some massive wins, including a standout moment from fan-favourite Nay Nay.
She stuck with her box until the very end and walked away with a record-breaking £75,000 – the biggest prize in the reboot’s history.
But as they say, all good things must come to an end.
The British game show first hit screens with Noel Edmonds as host, running on Channel 4 from October 31, 2005, to December 23, 2016.
Deal or No Deal made its big comeback in late 2023 after seven years off our screens.
The first season was a hit, so it didn’t take long for ITV to give it the green light for a second run.
After a long break, it made a comeback on ITV1 with Stephen taking over as host from November 20, 2023.
Each episode, a contestant picks one of 22 boxes, each hiding a random cash amount.
They eliminate boxes round by round, influencing the Banker’s offers, with luck deciding their final winnings.
Now, season 14 of Tipping Point is coming back to ITV.
The series first hit screens back in 2012 and has been going strong ever since.
However, avid viewers were not that happy with the change.
Users have taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to call for the return of the game show.
One person wrote: “Bring back #DealOrNoDeal @ITV #TippingPoint is so boring”.
“I am gutted there’s no more #dealornodeal #tippingpoint”, another user added.
A disgruntled viewer stated: “god i hate #DealOrNoDeal bring back tipping point!!!!”
“#DealOrNoDeal replaced with tipping point. Wth nowhere near as good”, said another a little more politely.
That said, fans have accused ITV of 'killing' the format.
They noticed how the prize money up for grabs has been slashed by a whopping £150k, with the eye-watering £250,000 top prize axed.
ITV hasn’t announced season three of Deal or No Deal just yet, but since it’s still so treasured, there’s a good chance it’ll be back.
In 2024, season two was confirmed at the end of January, just a week after the first season wrapped up.
If ITV sticks to a similar timeline, we could hear an announcement in the next few days.
Season two kicked off in October 2024, so if the pattern continues, fans might have to wait a little while before it returns to their screens.
Once the new season is confirmed, details about auditions will follow, giving fans the chance to take on The Banker themselves.
Tipping Point airs on ITV1 from February 17, 2025 at 4pm.
