Coronation Street star shocks fans as she reveals TV role during the Super Bowl

This Corrie star also won Strictly Come Dancing

WHEN it comes to landing jobs as an actor, one that involves the Super Bowl is a BIG one.

The American football game is watched by millions of fans around the world - and one Coronation Street star got a prime TV spot during the famous match.

Halftime at the Super Bowl saw Kendrick Lamar put on a stellar performance.

Adverts played in the run up to the halftime show are watched by millions and millions of fans around the world - and former Corrie star Alexandra Mardell has revealed she voiced one of them.

The soap star lent her voice to the Angel Soft tissue paper ad, which told fans to take a bathroom break before Kendrick took to the stage.

Sharing her joy, Alex posted a picture of herself recording the Super Bowl ad, and wrote: "Just a little VO for... THE SUPER BOWL.

"Think I’ve forever peaked in the ‘fun fact’ game."

Alex's fans immediately rushed to say well done, with one commenting: "Congrats girl! This is amazing!"

This one added: "Nice one, congrats!"

Another said: "Wait what?!!! That was you?"

BECOMING A CORRIE STAR

Alexandra got her big break when she landed the role of barmaid Emma Brooker on Corrie.

She burst onto our screens in 2018 as the secret daughter of Steve McDonald and his ex-girlfriend from the 1990s, Fiona Middleton.

Alexandra’s portrayal of sweet-natured Emma saw her crowned Best Newcomer at the British Soap Awards in 2019.

In January 2022, Alex announced she was quitting Coronation Street after four years on the soap.

VOICEOVER QUEEN

Since leaving Corrie, Alex has lent her voice to several adverts, including Aldi.

While she wasn't seen on screen, she voiced the role of the speaking sausage casserole.

At the time, Alexandra shared the video for the promo spot on her Instagram page, and said: "I am… Sausage Casserole!

"Never felt so connected to a role!," she laughed.

STRICTLY CHAMP

Alex has kept busy since her days on the cobbles, which also saw her be crowned a Strictly Come Dancing champ.

The star won the festive addition of the show which aired on Christmas Day in 2022.
