Vanessa wrote on Instagram: "I had the best time training with Chris.

"I was impressed every day by his dedication and feel sad that he wasn't able to fully experience the most incredible journey that Dancing on Ice gives.

"He would have deserved it.

"Every day last week I wished I could have trained with him and his new wonderful partner, but I've definitely found a new great friend."

Love Island star Chris, 34, became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the ITV show.

Chris - who was partnered with Robin Johnstone - would go head-to-head with Anton Ferdinand and Annette Dytrt.

Then it came down to the judges to decide who would be sent packing.

Ashley Banjo chose to save Anton and Annette, as did judge Oti Mabuse.

Christopher Dean also saved Anton and Annette, sealing Chris's fate.

Jayne Torvill would have had the deciding vote if it was a tie, although on this occasion her vote didn't change the result.
