LONDON commuters got the shock of their lives when they spotted a Hollywood A-lister joining them on the train.
The actor, who led the cast of Gladiator II last year, was seen ditching chauffeur-driven cars for the speedy Tube on Sunday.
Paul Mescal, who shot to international fame in 2020 with love story Normal People, decided to take the train home after a day of work.
He is currently on the West End in a production of A Streetcar Named Desire alongside Patsy Ferran and Black Mirror's Anjana Vasan.
Keeping a low profile in a jacket and a baseball cap pulled low over his face, Paul was seen listening to music as he jumped on the Piccadilly Line to get home.
Paul has had a meteoric rise to fame since Normal People, which he starred in with Daisy Edgar-Jones and remains close friends with.

Fans have been desperate to see a continuation of the love story between Connell and Marianne, but it has never materialised, with the six-episode series covering the entirety of Sally Rooney's novel of the same name.
In 2023 he earned his first Oscar nomination for drama Aftersun, which tracks a young father and his daughter on a holiday together.
While he missed out on the gong that year, the actor has been keeping busy over the past year, becoming a Hollywood A-lister thanks to his role in Gladiator II.
Starring alongside Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, Paul played Lucius, the secret son of Russell Crowe's character from the original movie.

He also teamed up with Andrew Scott in tragic flick, All Of Us Strangers, which follows a man as he struggles with loneliness.
Paul is now performing as Stanley Kowalski in the Tennessee Williams play, which is currently running until February 22nd.
The star is currently believed to be dating singer Gracie Abrams, who shot to fame last year with the release of her album, The Secret Of Us, and appearing on dates of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.
The couple have kept their relationship out of the spotlight, but are believed to have started dating last summer.
However, the Irish star was spotted 'having an upsetting conversation' with Gracie during a meal together in Newington Green at the end of January.
