It came after she was left heartbroken following her split from co-star Diags.

But The Sun can exclusively reveal that Jodie's TV future isn't over and she has signed a deal to return to the programme and film with the rest of the cast upon their return to Essex.

The Sun also understands that Jodie briefly filmed for the programme's new series before they jetted off and ahead of making a permanent decision on her TV future.

A source told The Sun: “Jodie will be returning to the series, she decided to skip the Bali trip after her and Diags split, she didn’t want to spend time with Diags because the break-up was still fresh.

"Jodie also has a young child and wanted to stay back in Essex for him.

"Jodie was introduced to the show when she started dating Diags, so there was some fear that she’d quit the series altogether after the split, but she’s not going anywhere.

"She’s already filmed her scenes for episode one in Essex, while the rest of the cast are in Bali. A lot has happened since the last series, fans of the show will get to see the aftermath of Jodie and Diags’ break-up and what really happened.

"Although lots of the cast are still hopeful that the pair will reunite and get back together.”

The Sun has contacted a spokesperson for the show for comment.

We were the first to reveal that Jodie and Diags had called it quits at the turn of the New Year after two years together.

Towie star's fly to Bali - but not everyone is in first class

It came just days before the cast flew off leaving Jodie's future in doubt.

The pair had an on/off romance and often left fans guessing about the status of their relationship.

But they decided to call it quits for good, despite the mum-of-one gearing up to relocate with her son to Essex.

A source told The Sun: "The pair have been desperately trying to make things work, but just couldn't keep things on track and have decided to split.

"There was a big disagreement over moving in together, but in the end it wasn't just that.

"They hadn't been getting on for a while and they were very different people."

Jodie even went as far as removing all traces of Diags from her Instagram account.
