Love Island star shares heartbreak as he reveals devastating family loss
JAKE Cornish has revealed his heartbreak after suffering a devastating family loss.
The Love Island star, 27, took to Instagram to reveal his nan has passed away and shared touching photos from her funeral.
Jake’s photos showed the flowers from the service, and he wrote: “Sleep tight nan.”
They included a white flower wreath in the shape of a heart with pink and red roses.
Jake shot to fame on the 2021 series of Love Island and returned last year for the All Stars spin-off.
But he sensationally quit the show just hours after the launch when he discovered the public had voted to couple him up with ex Liberty Poole.

He later opened up about his decision to walk away, insisting he didn’t regret taking a chance on a second villa stint.
Speaking to The Sun, Jake said: "I don’t regret doing All Stars, it was very different from the first time, it wasn't going to be the same.
"I couldn’t take anything in there, enough was enough and I just had to go. I went there for love and it didn’t happen. I did it three years before and some of the conversations this time just felt a bit forced.”
Jake has since been busy pursuing a movie career and last year landed a role in Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire alongside Maisie Smith and Charlie Clapham.
Discussing the huge career change, he said: “I’ve had a lot of people say to me ‘you’ve done Love Island, you’re basically a wannabe’.
"When someone gives you an opportunity like acting, I’m gracious, I’m gonna take it. It’s my second film in the last year so I’m gonna take it and enjoy it.”
Jake previously revealed how much Islanders are paid to do the show - and he wasn't happy with the sum.
Speaking on the Offline podcast, Jake said: “The money is bad for Love Island, first time was £375 quid a week.
"You earn your money off Love Island for your brand deals."
