EASTENDERS legend Dean Gaffney has revealed that he has landed his first acting job in six years.

Set to star in an upcoming action movie with a Hollywood star, Dean - who is perhaps best known for playing Robbie Jackson in EastEnders - has teased fans with an image from he movie shoot.

Taking to Instagram to share a sneak peek and reveal which Hollywood star he has been working alongside, Dean excitedly spilled the beans.

Sharing a snap of him and Vinnie Jones on set, Dean wrote: "Myself and Vinnie coming to a screen this year," complete with a red heart emoji.

Vinnie, 60, is a former professional footballer who is globally known for his acting talent.

The Watford-born star has appeared in flicks such as The Midnight Meat Train; Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels; She's The Man; and Gone in 60 Seconds.

Dean will star alongside the famous Hollywood star in action movie Reckless, which is due out this year.

According to the new flick's IMDB page, the movie synopsis reads: "A former convict on parole must outwit the police to get his share of an old heist."

Dean is best known for his portrayal of Robbie Jackson on hit BBC soap opera EastEnders.

The actor, 46, starred on EastEnders on and off from 1993 until 2015, with his role in Reckless marking his first acting job in six years.

DEAN'S GLOWING ACTING CAREER

Dean played the role of Robbie from 1993 until 2003, before reprising the role in 2017 until 2019.

He then went back to Walford for several guest appearances, with him arriving on Albert Square again in 2004, 2010 and 2015 in between his longer stints.

EastEnders hasn't been Dean's only acting job, with him also appearing on The Bill in 2006.

In 2007, the actor toured with the Agatha Christie Theatre Company, performing The Unexpected Guest.

And during Christmas 2011, he appeared in pantomime at the Thurrock Thameside Theatre in Grays, Essex.

In 2015, the soap star took on the role of Wishee Washee, in the pantomime Aladdin, in Runcorn.

EastEnders' 40th anniversary cameos so far

With the 40th anniversary of EastEnders coming up, fans are looking forward to some more incredible cameos from iconic faces of Walford's past. But who have we had so far?

Tracy-Ann Oberman - Oberman returned as Chrissie Watts, a character she last played nearly two decades ago.

Paul Bradley - Bradley returned as Nigel Bates, a character he last played over 25 years ago.

Micheal French - French returned as David Wicks, a character he last played two decades ago.

Patsy Palmer - Palmer returned as Bianca Jackson, a character she last played in 2019.

Coming up this year...

Ross Kemp - Kemp will reprise his role as Grant Mitchell, a character he first played in 1990. The BBC has described Kemp's storyline as "explosive". Kemp said it was an "absolute honour" to return to the show.

Other aspects of the 40th anniversary celebration include: A wedding between fan favorites, A huge explosion at the Queen Vic, and A live interactive episode.

And more recently in 2023, he appeared in I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, which was his second stint in the jungle after his first in 2006.

DEAN'S NEW ACTION MOVIE

New movie Reckless, which will star Dean alongside Vinnie, is directed by Elliott Montello, who previously worked on Mob Land.

The flick was co-written by Matthew Robert Kelly and Stu Small.

The supporting cast includes the likes of Adam Deacon from Righteous Villains; Kris Johnson from Undercover Hooligan; and Jordan Long from Kingsman: The Secret Service.
