But it has all gone PC as she shuts down compliments on her appearance at work, makes a remark on a consensual kiss and is lectured by a snowflake nanny.

She hires the child help following the death of husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).

Introducing her son, she says: “This is Billy — the science genius.”

The nanny remarks: “Oh, you mustn’t pigeonhole children.”

Bridget also says Billy is a straight-As student but is told: “It’s not about the result, it’s about the journey.”

The character embarks on a romance with hunky toyboy Roxster (Leo Woodall, 28) after they match on a dating app.

On a first date, he asks: “Is it alright if I kiss you?”

She replies: “Aw, a generation who ask.”

Bridget returns to work as a TV producer and her boss says she looks “hot”.

She responds: “I think you will find that sort of language is a little outmoded in the workplace.”
