SMALLVILLE follows the coming-of-age adventures of teenage Clark Kent in his fictional hometown before he formally becomes the Man of Steel.

The American superhero television series premiered in 2001 and received accolades ranging from Emmys to Teen Choice Awards.

When its tenth and final season ended in 2011 fans were sad to see the show end.

This week, it was revealed that the show's lead actor Tom Welling had been arrested for DUI in California.

Now, The Sun Online takes a look at what became of the Tom and the other stars of the programme.

T of the teenage Clark Kent/Superman in the series.

SmallVille

A young man with superhuman abilities who tries to find his place in life after discovering that he is an extra-terrestrial in origin.

Since then, Tom has starred in Lucifer and Professionals, as well as a film released last year called Mafia Wars.

But he was arrested this week in Northern California in connection with driving under the influence.

TMZ reported the actor was taken into custody in the parking lot of an Arby's restaurant shortly after midnight.

The outlet cited police records which stated his blood alcohol level read at, or above 0.08 per cent.

Tom has since been released from custody after he was cited for the violation, but is yet to comment publicly.

the love interest for Clark Kent and his alter-ego Superman.

Lois's relationship with Clark is shown in the beginning as more as a brother/sister relationship, with the two characters often arguing with each other.

But by season 10, the relationship goes through several milestones and the loved up pair get engaged.

Since then Erica has starred as Dr. Alex Reid in the medical drama series Saving Hope and in films such as The Untold, The Butterfly Effect 2 , Final Verdict and Painkillers.

She has also appeared in several Lifetime and Hallmark films, including I Me Wed, Wedding Planner Mystery and A Scottish Love Scheme

Kristin Kreuk

who is grieving the loss of her parents and is the first main love interest for Clark.

Although she left the series after the seventh season, she returned for five episodes in season eight as a special guest star.

Since then she has played Catherine Chandler in the sci-fi series Beauty & the Beast and as Joanna Hanley in the legal drama series Burden of Truth.

She has also starred in Reacher and Murder in a Small Town, portrayed Chun-Li in the American martial arts film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and has starred in films.

In 2018, reported that Kirsten was linked to a self-help group that was alleged to be a sex-trafficking cult, after NXIVM leader Keith Raniere  with keeping women as sex slaves and branding them as his property.

Following the arrest, Kirsten disclosed on her Twitter account that she had joined NXIVM believing it was a "self-help" group but left in 2014, and had not witnessed any illegal or nefarious activities during her time in the group.

Kirsten's statement was backed by actress Sarah Edmondson, who had participated in exposing NXIVM's activities.

Kirsten moved back to Vancouver in September 2022 after living in Toronto for a few years to study her undergraduate degree and pursue producing opportunities.

Michael Rosenbaum

Michael played Lex Luthor, a billionaire's son sent to Smallville to run the local fertilizer plant.

After Clark saves his life, they become fast friends but as the series progresses, Lex's friendship with Clark crumbles until they consider themselves enemies.

Michael left the show after seven seasons reprising his role for the series finale.

Since then he has become known for portraying Martinex in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, Parker in Urban Legend, Adam/Adina in Sorority Boys and Dutch Nilbog in Breaking In.

He also has an extensive voiceover career in animation, such as his role of Wally West / The Flash in the DC Animated Universe series Justice League and its sequel Justice League Unlimited (2004–2006).

Between 2015 and 2016, he played the lead role in the TV Land comedy series Impastor.

Michael is also the lead singer of the band Sun Spin with his friend Rob Danson and a hosts his own podcast.

Allison Mack

Allison played editor of the school newspaper, Chloe Sullivan, who was one of Clark's best friends, but was secretly in love with him.

However her journalistic curiosity created tension with her friends especially when she investigated Clark's past.

After Smallville, Allison was cast in a recurring role in the second season of the sitcom Wilfred and guest-starred as a policewoman named Hilary in an episode of the thriller The Following.

Shockingly, it was later revealed that Allison was a member of NXIVM, a cult and multi-level marketing company.

The Sun Online led the way in uncovering claims about the group and its supposed members back in 2017.

In 2018 she was arrested by federal authorities on charges of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labour conspiracy related to her involvement in NXIVM and its subgroup, DOS.

Mack pleaded guilty to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges and in 2021 was sentenced to three years in prison.

She served 21 months in Federal Correctional Institution, Dublin, in California and was released in July 2023.

Annette O'Toole

Annette played the role of Clark's adoptive mother Martha Kent who with her husband, Jonathan, help guide Clark to cope with his increasing abilities.

In season five Martha takes a state-senate seat but in season six she left the show.

However, she returned to make guest appearances in the final two seasons, reprising her role, while also portraying The Red Queen.

Since then, Annette has played the role of Veronica, a middle-aged woman with a severe case of Alzheimer's, in the television series Lie to Me.

She has also appeared in Grey's Anatomy, Halt and Catch Fire and Stephen King's 11.22.63.

She and former Smallville co-star John Glover reunited for the horror film We Go On.

Currently, Annette plays the role of Hope McCrea in the Netflix series Virgin River and has done for the last six years.
