A HOST of British talent is up for Oscar glory - but look likely to stay in their seats when the names are pulled out of the envelopes.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today selected their nominations for the biggest award night in the movie industry.

Among the hopefuls are home grown talents Ralph Fiennes, who is up for the Papal drama Conclave, and Felicity Jones, who is in the running for The Brutalist.

But they are both long odds with bookmakers to get their hands on the golden statuette on March 2.

Will Win: Demi Moore - The Substance

The Ghost star is brilliant in The Substance and Academy voters love a comeback story.

Should win: Mikey Madison - Anora

It’s probably too early for an Oscar for Mikey Madison, whose magnetic charisma drives this 21st century Pretty Woman along.

Will win: Kieran Culkin - A Real Pain

The bookies have Macaulay Culkin’s brother Kieran nailed on to win for this comedy drama. 

Should win: Jeremy Strong - The Apprentice

Succession actor Strong goes from swaggering titan to deflated forgotten man in this Trump biopic.

Best Supporting Actress

Will win:  Zoe Saldana - Emilia Perez

Arguably, Saldana is the lead in Emilia Perez, dominating the musical with her presence from the start. 

Should win: Zoe Saldana - Emilia Perez

A great actress and a worthy Oscar winner.

Best Director

Will win: Brady Corbet - The Brutalist

Since picking up the Golden Globe, Corbet has been battered by allegations he used AI, but should survive the controversy.
