Legendary sitcom’s reboot brutally cancelled after just two seasons – with bosses scrambling to save the show

FANS were gutted after a legendary sitcom's reboot was axed after just two seasons.

Paramount+ decided that hit 90s show Frasier would not return for a third time.

CBS Studios bosses are now frantically trying to find solutions to save the comedy tarring Kelsey Grammer, 69, as Frasier.

Prime Video and Hulu are strong candidates to give Frasier a new home.

They both have the original Frasier episodes.

Unfortunately, sibling network CBS is looking unlikely to take the show on as it set its sights on a spin-off of The Neighborhood.

Frasier returned to screens in 2023, which follows his adventures when he returns to Boston.

Kelsea is joined by Jack Cutmore-Scott who plays his son Freddy and his old college friend Alan - played by Nicholas Lyndhurt.

Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro and Anders Keith are also in the reboot.

Wendie Malick, who played Ronee Lawrence, Frasier's childhood babysitter refused to return to the sequel series.

Speaking to  Wendie admitted a return "wouldn't feel right" following former co-star John Mahoney's death.

John, who played Martin Crane, died back in 2018 aged 77.

Wendie said: "I just don’t think it would feel right.

"I had such a connection to John Mahoney playing his love interest and finally marrying him that I’m not sure that I want to revisit that.

"That was something that was such a lovely ride, and that season was so much fun and I was honoured to be part of it."

Offering a shred of hope to fans, she concluded: ";Never say never, but that’s my gut feeling."

David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier's brother Niles, is also yet to make an appearance.

Speaking to the , David opened up about his decision to not reprise the role.

He said: "I never really wanted to go back.

"It’s not like I said, ‘Oh, I don’t ever want to do that again.’ I loved every moment.

Airing from 1993 to 2004, the show - a spin-off of Cheers - followed Frasier as he returned to his hometown Seattle as a radio host.
