The revelation hasn’t been confirmed by the BBC but the website claims to have seen production listings confirming that plans for six new episodes are underway.

The drama follows the world of deepfakes, technological manipulation and international espionage in stories that feel very familiar and relevant to the real world today.

Series one aired in 2019 and followed the lead actor Holliday Grainger who portrays the role of Rachel Carey of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command.

Her case involves an alleged war criminal, Shaun, who is acquitted of offences in Afghanistan.

Upon his return to the UK he tries to rebuild his life but Shaun soon finds himself at the centre of a new investigation surrounding the disappearance of his own barrister.

The series looks at how CCTV footage and tech based evidence can be manipulated to the point where even Shaun starts to question what is real.

The soldier in question is played by Callum Turner, who The Sun recently revealed first, is now engaged to Pop icon Dua Lipa.

The Capture series landed Callum a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor and he's well known for his work in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise.
