AS Love Island star Catherine Agbaje returns to the show with hopes for a second shot at romance, attention has turned to her split with Elom Ahlijah-Wilson.

The pair went their separate ways just days after being dumped from the villa in 2023 after meeting during season ten of the reality show.

Their brief relationship blossomed in Casa Amor with Catherine deciding to dump Scott Van Der Sluis by bringing Elom back to the main villa.

But by day 38, the public axed the couple and they quickly split after returning to the UK with the OG love islander revealing that their relationship had already been on the rocks.

That summer she opened up to New magazine about their decision to go their separate ways.

Catherine said: “Me and Elom, we get along. But we were already going through the bombshell comments and dealing with that.

“So our relationship already had holes in it, but early on we decided that we were going to be friends.”

During the show, Elom told Catherine that if a bombshell entered the villa he would be interested in them.

Despite these concerns, in her exit interview, Catherine said that her connection with Elom was “genuine” adding: “We are so compatible.”

But, an insider previously told The Sun that the move from the ITV show to the real world proved too tricky.

The source said: “The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended.

“They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started.

“Catherine’s sister made no secret about her feelings towards Elom so it’s no surprise she cooled things off straight away.”

After leaving the villa, Elom said in a podcast he would be “concentrating” on himself meaning fans were not surprised when the split was confirmed.

He said: “Currently, I want to focus on myself. Coming out of the villa is like a thing where there’s obviously a lot of light on both of us innit and we both need to focus on ourselves.”

The Irish beauty certainly took that advice onboard as she showed off her “getting snatched” beauty routine over the summer which left little to the imagination.

Love Island All Stars is back on TV for season 2.

Here we take you through the line-up of all the Islanders’ who are in the villa so far.

Bombshells

Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.

Here’s who has joined the villa so far:

Now as Love Island: All Stars 2025 kicks off in South Africa and Catherine has another go at finding love, she has been paired up with Nas Majeed who starred in the first winter version of Love Island in 2020.

But, fans think that the pair are already doomed and will be exploring their options as many think Catherine looked disappointed at the pairing.

One viewer wrote on social media after the couples were announced: “Catherine looked sooo disappointed.”

Another said: “Catherine and Nas don’t seem suited to each other at all.”

A third added: “I cannot see Catherine and Naz at all but lets see… Catherine is not happy.”

Nas has returned to the ITV show after splitting with his Love Island sweetheart Eva Zapico last year.
