SAM Thompson fans think they've worked out the 'real reason' he and Zara McDermott split.
It was reported on New Year's Day that the reality stars have called time on their relationship after five years.

Now fans have insisted Sam not popping the question might have had something to do with the break-up.
The former Made in Chelsea star has spoken many times in the past about the possibility of marrying Love Island's Zara.
At the beginning of the year he said: "We speak about marriage a lot, but there's no pressure to put a ring on it."
And in 2021 Zara was asked during an Instagram Q&A if she wanted to get married.

She replied: "Absolutely! I know it's a very individual thing but I personally would love to."
Some think Sam's reluctance to pop the question stems from Zara confessing to cheating on him in 2019.
Writing on Reddit, one said: "A shame but not surprising. I always found it odd how much they talked about wanting to get married one day but never got engaged.
"I alway sensed Sam wasn’t sure."

It's been reported Sam's family - particularly his sister Louise - struggled to forgive Zara after she cheated with music exec Brahim Fourad while she was on The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019.
A source said: "Zara and Sam's relationship just never had felt like it was heading for the long haul.

"They never really recovered from Zara's cheating, most couples would have struggled lasting for as long as they did afterwards."
The insider added to : "Zara had some big making up to do, especially with Louise, she really wasn't happy when Sam took her back.
"But she managed to make it work and they had some great times together again, but it just felt like it was never going to be truly serious."
