ITV viewers have been left fuming with The Masked Singer as the festive special appeared to have changed up the clues for Christmas.
The Christmas special of The Masked Singer saw four festive characters take to the stage with cryptic clues for the judges and viewers to guess who they could be.
However viewers at home have been left furious as they slammed the show for 'making the clues harder' for the festive special.
The first singing battle saw Christmas Cracker perform and then Star, with both giving mysterious clues that had viewers and the judges confused over who it could be.
One viewer took to X to write: "Currently watching #MaskedSingerUK. The only show in the UK where the clues are so difficult they make #OnlyConnect seem attainable."
Another added: "They cannot be serious with those clues."

"The clues are totally useless, no one would EVER know what they were referring to. Ridiculous," raged a third.
Another posted: "these clues have been unnecessarily s*** tonight".
Another annoyed viewer quipped: "The clues on #maskedsingeruk are ridiculous. 'The heart next to the word batteries was a reference to him having a penchant for AAs.'"
The first celebrity to be unmasked was This Morning's Josie Gibson, with viewers then left even more annoyed after some of the clues hinted at a soap character or star from Coronation Street.

One viewer wrote: "My heart is no longer in it!! What in the name of God did any of those clues have to do with Josie??
"And the ones slightly related to her (none of the random soap ones) could be for almost any celebrity doing the usual circuit."
Another posted: "Wait, what’s with the “soap” references??? Totally threw me with that. Well done Josie!!!"
The Masked Singer special has also featured a guest appearance from comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, alongside usual favourites Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross.
Prior to appearing on the ITV festive special, the comedy double act revealed they would be fiercely competitive.
Speaking ahead of the show, Dawn said: "Any rivalry between Jen and I on this show will NOT be friendly… We love each other but a competition is a competition and I will take that beatch down with no mercy."
Jennifer added: "Dawn is far more up-to-date with the Who’s Who of showbiz, so I’m hoping she’ll give me some suggestions."
But while they are great friends, they won't be gathering around the Christmas table together. Jennifer said: "No, we don't live together... We're not joined at the hip."
