Watch dramatic moment Christine Lampard halts show and says ‘there’s an intruder’ as alarm sounds on Lorraine
It was all for a good reason
THERE was a very dramatic moment on Lorraine this morning when an alarm sounded in the studio.
Stand-in host Christine Lampard was at the helm of ITV’s Lorraine today, with the Irish beauty appeared to call a halt to the show when something unexpected happened.
“I’ve just been informed there’s intruders in the building,” Christine shouted as an alarm sounded on the live programme, before the sliding doors behind her opened.
But the show’s halt was all planned and in good jest, with the segment focusing on what to watch on television over the festive season.
Mysterious characters appeared from behind the doors, wearing red-coloured jumpsuits and masks with shapes on them.
They were in fact characters from Squid Game – a Netflix series about to release its second season.
Squid Game is a fictional South Korean series that sees hundreds of cash-strapped contestants accept an invitation to compete in what they think are children’s games for a tempting prize.
But the consequences for not winning are deadly.
The second season of Squid Game season will premiere on December 26, Boxing Day.
All seven episodes will be available to stream from launch.
It came as Christine stood in once again for Lorraine Kelly.
Lorraine, who heads up her own self-titled show, is currently on her Christmas holidays.
Christine Lampard is a regular relief host and often stands in for her colleague.
Lorraine has hosted 151 episodes out of 255 this year, according to a popular X account.
Meanwhile, Christine has hosted 52 episodes and Ranvir Singh, another relief host, has hosted 49.
