Black Doves series two confirmed by Netflix – and reveals which stars will return
BLACK Doves has been renewed for a second series by Netflix.
The series has been a huge success for the steamer since it first dropped at the beginning of the month.
It stars Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw as assassins Helen and Sam, as well as Sarah Lancashire, who plays Helen's handler Reed.
Netflix announced the news as an early Christmas present to fans on its social media channels using a special announcement from Keira and Ben as their characters.
Show creator Joe Barton also revealed that series two had actually been given the greenlight by Netflix before the first had even aired.
He said: "It's never happened before, most things I work on get cancelled almost instantly.

"So, I was all prepared to have a really nervous Christmas this year. I was on holiday, and in an Italian supermarket, when I got a call from the producers saying, 'Come home, you need to start writing, we're doing more.'"
As well as Keira and Ben's return being confirmed, fans will be delighted to learn that Sarah will also be back for the second series.
It is yet to be confirmed if Omari Douglas, Andrew Buchan, Ella Lily Hyland and Gabrielle Creevy will resume their roles.
Black Doves follows Keira's character Helen, who is an undercover spy married to a top UK politician.

However, her secret lover is assassinated and so Helen decides to hunt down the culprits and get her revenge.
Fans were also delighted by the news, with one writing online: "I felt there was unfinished business. Glad it’s coming back."
Another added: "thinking about eleanor and williams..............................pleek bring them back for s2."
Meanwhile a third wrote: "Yes one of my favourite shows this year."
Black Doves is available on Netflix now.
