Jersey girl Jenny began her journalism career on the island's BBC radio show, before going to Cardiff University.
A stint working in Birmingham for Central Television was followed by a return to her home island when the BBC launched a Channel Islands news service.
She previously said: "It was an exciting time. The operation was new and set up on a shoestring. We all got used to reading the news while staring at an old toilet. The studio was a hastily converted room at the back of BBC Jersey!"
She returned to the mainland once again to take on a role at BBC Look North. Based in Grimsby before moving to Hull, she covered news stories across Yorkshire and the North Midlands.

National news beckoned as a reporter for Breakfast, which came with a new set of challenges - none more difficult than the early wake-up time.
She said: "It's a great team at Breakfast and while I don't think I'll ever get used to the early alarm calls, working here is always great fun."
Jenny began her international career in 2014 when she became the Corporation's Berlin correspondent.
More recently she has covered the war in Ukraine and Israel's battle with Hamas in the Middle East.
Based in the German capital, Jenny teased future work by changing her X bio to read: "Planning new adventures from Berlin."
