BBC confirms return of hit show for third series with Bargain Hunt and Strictly stars

This series will introduce four new faces to the team

THE BBC has confirmed that The Travelling Auctioneers is coming back for a third series at the start of 2025.

The hit show, which pairs expert auctioneers with skilled restorers, will once again see its hosts hitting the road in search of hidden treasures.

The Travelling Auctioneers demonstrates how hidden antiques in family homes can be transformed using a little creativity and sold for more dosh when they go under the hammer.

This time, the show promises even more surprises as it introduces four fresh faces to its lineup.

Former Strictly star JJ Chalmers and woodwork expert Robin Johnson will be returning to the iconic blue auction van as restoration maestros, alongside Bargain Hunt's Izzie Balmer.

British auctioneer and TV presenter Christina Trevanion will also be back on screen to narrate the series.

But this year woodworking champions Lauren Wood and Saf Fäkir, will be joining them, as well as and skilled auctioneers James 'JB' Broad and Briony 'Bee' Harford.

The new episodes of The Travelling Auctioneers are set to airing on BBC One and iPlayer from Monday, January 6, at 4:30 pm.

The third series will see the team split into pairs, taking their mobile auction house and workshop on the road across the UK.

Each episode features the team sifting through one family home at a time to identify items with the highest selling potential.

Christina, Izzie, JB, and Bee will leverage their auctioneer expertise to appraise and sell these finds.

Meanwhile JJ, Robin, Lauren, and Saf will use their restoration skills to breathe new life into neglected pieces.

After the antiques are all touched up, they will be sold in thrilling on-site auctions to the highest bidder.

The show's new recruits have voiced their excitement about the project, with former Antiques Roadshow star JB saying: "Signing up for this show was an easy decision for me.

"The chance to travel and meet incredible people while uncovering the stories behind their cherished possessions is something truly magical.

"I'm particularly looking forward to the excitement of the auctions themselves – there’s nothing quite like the anticipation of finding out which items resonate most with buyers."

Bee added: "I love my job for many reasons, but the main one is helping people make a difference to their lives.

"I get no greater joy than unearthing treasures in people's homes that they had no idea were worth anything, then selling them on the rostrum!"
