Creators of hit series The Flatshare share first-look at brand new rom-com series – and it is just days away

THE creators of hit series The Flatshare have revealed a first look at a brand new festive rom com — and it will be available to watch within days.

Based on the bestselling novel by Beth O'Leary, The Road Trip is the perfect Christmas holiday series to binge on.

Emma Appleton plays Addie who takes a road trip through Spain.

Their car crashes into another, and it soon turns out that Addie’s ex Dylan (Laurie Davidson) and his friend Marcus (David Jonsson) are inside the car, along with a complete stranger, Rodney (Angus Imrie).

With their car wrecked, they all cram into the campervan.

As the group get acquainted the former couple take the audience on a trip down memory lane via flashbacks.

The audience learn all about their past love affair and the reason for their break-up.

The synopsis reads: “Filled with wish fulfilment, stunning landscapes, and all the romantic yearning of One Day combined with the fun of Planes, Trains and Automobiles, THE ROAD TRIP is a beguiling, modern story about love in your late twenties.

"A kaleidoscopic rom-com, it explores love in all its guises through a trio of unforgettable relationships: a class-divided romance, a codependent bromance, and a knotty but affectionate sisterly bond."

Emma Appleton previously starred in Traitors, The Killing Kind, Pistols, and Everything I Know About Love.

The six-part series is based on a bestselling book that many people just couldn't put down.

The book has rave reviews on Goodreads and follows O'Leary's previous 2019 novel, The Flatshare, which was too adapted into a series on Paramount +.

Jessica Brown Findlay, as Tiffany 'Tiffy' More, and Anthony Welsh, as Leon Twomey, played the romantic leads.

Other cast members include Pleasure Island's Gina Bramhill as Rachel and Dr Who's Jonah Hauer-King as Mo.

The plot follows the aftermath of a breakup, with Tiff agreeing to timeshare a bed with hospice nurse Leon in the hope they never have to meet, but soon romance sparks.

The Road Trip airs on Thursday, 26 December on Paramount+.
