Watch moment GMB host Ranvir Singh revealed ‘real reason’ for marriage split live on air as she let slip shock discovery
The Good Morning Britain star spilled the beans to her co-stars
RANVIR Singh appeared to let slip the ‘real reason’ she split with her husband during a previous live TV broadcast.
The Good Morning Britain host, 41, has this week shocked fans by revealing she has been a single mum for 12 years.
It was previously assumed Ranvir had separated from her husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal shortly before she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020.
But in a new podcast interview, the broadcaster has confirmed she has been single since she was seven months pregnant with their son Tushaan – who is now 12.
An old clip of Ranvir chatting to her GMB co-host Ben Shephard has now come to light in which she appears to reveal why her marriage broke down.
In the episode of the ITV breakfast show, which aired in 2019, Ranvir asks: “Is it ever okay to snoop on your partner’s phone?”
Ben turns to co-stars Richard Arnold and Sean Fletcher and grills them about if they have ever done it.
Both deny looking at their former partners’ phones when Anvir suddenly chips in: “I have.”
Shocked, Ben exclaims: “You have?”
Anvir replies: “Once.”
Ben asks: “And is that why you are no longer together.”
Looking coy, Anvir explained: “I can’t answer that question but can I just say…
“I have always thought that if you ever feel you need to do that, well the relationship is over because you obviously don’t trust that person.
“Should we end that conversation there?”
Ranvir’s colleagues agreed, however the chat continued.
Unable to help himself, Sean asked Ranvir: “So when you looked, did you find anything? Are you allowed to say?”
Nodding, Ravir replied: “I found something that needed addressing. I can’t tell you anymore!”
She added: “So I would say, you think you don’t need to do it until you do.”
Ranvir made her admission on April 5, 2019, which was 18 months before she took part in Strictly Come Dancing.
Partnered with Giovanni Pernice, she told GMB viewers at the time she was going to be appear on the BBC show ‘single’.
But in a shock admission on Friday, Ranvir told podcast that she has been a single since she was seven-months pregnant, 12 years ago.
The newsreader told Kate: “I have actually been a single mum since I was seven months pregnant. I’ve kept that so quiet but I am ok to talk about it now.
“Now I’m at a point in my life where I think that I’m learning to embrace my whole life and to not compartmentalise it as much, to keep everything separate.
“I’m happy to correct it today. Obviously my friends and family have known. It shows you can keep private whatever you choose to!”
Explaining why she is only just making the admission in public, Ranvir went on: “I feel like I am beginning to mesh my life together and part of that is being able to say, ‘Yes I was single since I was seven months pregnant’.
“I need to own it. I need to say, ‘It’s not shameful, it’s not something to hide, this is me’.”
