Paddy McGuinness gets tattoo tribute after raising more than £10m for Children in Need with cycle challenge

PADDY McGuinness has revealed he has fulfilled his promise to get a tattoo after raising more than £10million for Children in Need.

The TV presenter previously told The Sun of his plans to get a permanent inking to commemorate his epic cycle race that raced the huge amounts for the charity.

Now, Paddy had followed through with his promise and has confirmed that the inking has been successfully done.

51-year-old Paddy completed a gruelling 300-mile bike ride across the country last month as part of a charity campaign with BBC Radio 2.

He managed to raise a cool £10.5million in funds for the children's charity.

Teasing his fans about the brand new tat, Paddy shared a snap of that tattoo artist hard at work on his ankle to do a design of a Patch in honour of Pudsey Bear.

Taking to his social media, TV star Paddy said: "I promised you I’d get a Patch tattoo if we raised over £10 million.

"Well we raised £10.5 million!!!

"Big thanks to @loumolloy for giving up his time and donating his fee to @bbccin

"I’ll be telling you all about it on my @bbcradio2 show 11:00 - 13:00 this Sunday… along with the big reveal!

"I also filmed the tattoo being done. Will post it here next week.

"A massive thank you to all the amazing tattoo artists who got in touch offering their services as well. It was very much appreciated."

Speaking last month shortly after completing the huge cycle challenge, Paddy admitted it was more mentally demanding than physically.

He said: “It’s going to take me a long time to get myself back into reality.

"In my head I thought, ‘If I can get to a million quid, that will be brilliant’, because you never know if people are going to get on board with you. On the roads, I cannot get across how many came out."

Paddy added with a smile: “I equated it to a really beautiful storm and I was in the eye of it. It’s a lot to process."

The trek began in Wrexham before ultimately ending with Paddy in Glasgow, Scotland.
