CASUALTY fans have been given a glimpse of the Christmas special and it reveals a key character could be in mortal danger.
The newly-released teaser trailer starts with a snowy scene outside Holby General and we hear the voice of a panicked Siobhan saying: “The hospital is on amber warning, blood supplies are low.”
We then see Iain, played by Michael Stevenson, venturing out into the night, risking his own life to try to ease the situation.
But the festive drama that we’re used to seeing isn’t far away as the next scene shows Ian’s car mounting a bank, hitting a fence and rolling onto its roof.
Confirming the seriousness of the situation we hear a voiceover saying: “Control have lost contact with Ian."
Emergency services, including Teddy, are then seen rushing to what looks like a very serious crash with the fire brigade assessing the wreckage.

The BBC has been keen to make this year’s Christmas special different and to highlight the issue of the important role blood plays in the health service.
The show entitled ‘All I Want for Christmas’ will deviate from the usual format and will feature real-life testimonies from contributors who’ve been directly impacted by UK blood donation.
We’ll also see interviews with key workers from the UK’s blood service.
Alongside the dramatic main storyline, the special also includes a lineup of guest stars including Lucy-Jo Hudson (Wild At Heart, Doctors) who plays Adele Thompson, a young mum who brings her seven-year-old daughter, Leah, to Holby with troubling symptoms.
The Casualty Christmas special will be on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Saturday 21 December and airs on BBC One at 9:20pm that night. It will be followed by the next series of Casualty – titled Public Property - from Saturday 28 December.
