VERA desperately calls for help in a first look at teaser images from the forthcoming final ever episodes.

Oscar-nominated actress Brenda Blethyn, 78, will return for two more editions of the National Television Award nominated detective series.

The episodes are called 'Inside' and 'The Dark Wives' as Vera looks into the case surrounding these gripping murder mysteries.

The legendary detective has to deal with the heartfelt narrative of her own personal journey.

New pictures show the officer standing by her famous 4x4 as she urgently holds her hand high in a call for help.

David Leon, 44, returns as Vera's longtime colleague DI Joe Ashworth and the cast filmed in locations across the North East of the country.

The end of the show was previously confirmed by the broadcaster after the acclaimed actress decided to step back from the role.

Brenda previously teased how the series might end, as she said that events might get be rocky.

At an event at the BFI in London, Brenda hinted there might be tension between her alter ego and her colleague.
